Ackley Library
Ackley Public
Library has been a staple of the Ackley community since the late 1960's.
We offer a range of formats including fiction, non-fiction, reference
materials, magazines, newspapers, books on tape, CD's, puzzles, videos,
DVD's, cake pans, stencils, large print adult books and microfilm. Ackley
Public Library has over 25,000 items and is accredited by the State of
Iowa with a certified Librarian.

Using this web site and you library card, you may access our holdings, see
what you have checked out, renew your items on-line, and download audio
books (over 400 different best-selling offered each month.)
We have story hour for pre-school children on the second Wednesday of each
month. This is for everyone, starting at 10:00 a.m. and lasting until
11:00 a.m., where we read stories and do a craft. We also have story hour
for 4 to 5 year olds on the third Friday of each month from 10:00 - 11:00
a.m. and 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Every Wednesday we have children from grades
Kindergarten to Sixth enjoy an after-school program form 2:00 p.m. to 3:00
p.m. In the summer we offer a Summer Reading Program with lots of fun,
games and prizes. Adult activities include Book Discussion groups and
various other programs listed on our web site. We are automated and have
6 computers available to the public, which includes an in-house laptop.
We also are wireless so patrons may bring their own computer.
Our library board meets the first Monday of the month. Presently we are a
staff of 4 to serve your needs and we are open 43.5 hours per week. Our
hours are Monday: 10:30 - 5, Tuesday 11:00 - 7:00, Wednesday 9:00 -
5:00, Thursday 11:00 - 7:00, Friday 9:00 - 5:00 and Saturday 9:00 - 2:00.
