SPECIAL MEETING September 21, 2018

ACKLEY CITY COUNCIL met in special session September 21, 2018 in the Ackley City Hall Council Chambers with Mayor Erik Graham presiding. The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. Council members present: Joe Wessels, Judy Crawford, Pat Daggs, Pat Hurt, and Al Jones. Quorum present.

Daggs moved, Hurt seconded, to approve the September 21, 2018 Agenda as listed. Ayes-All. Motion carried. Crawford moved, Jones seconded, to go into closed session at 10:01 a.m. under Code Section 21.5(1)(i). Ayes-Crawford, Hurt, Jones, Wessels. Nays-Daggs. Motion carried. Council returned to open session at 10:21 a.m. No action was taken regarding closed session discussion. Wessels moved, Daggs seconded, to appoint rather than hold a special election to fill the upcoming Council vacancy. Ayes-All. Motion carried. Daggs moved, Jones seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 18-51 Hiring Jared Coyle as a Police Officer. Ayes-Hurt, Jones, Daggs. Nays-Wessels, Crawford. Motion carried. Daggs moved, Jones seconded, to adjourn at 10:36 a.m. Ayes-All. Motion carried.
