NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City Council of Ackley, Iowa shall hold a public hearing on the 15th day of September 2021, at 7:00 p.m. in the Ackley City Hall Council Chambers, 208 State Street, Ackley, Iowa to review an application for a State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan and to make available to the public the contents of an environmental information document and the City’s project plan. These documents include design and environmental information related to the proposed improvements to the City’s wastewater treatment system.
The proposed project includes installation of impermeable geomembrane flow diversion curtain in Cell 2, installation of a new aeration system in both Cell 1 and Cell 2, installation of new electric service drops and controls, concrete pad, compressors, and all required pressure piping. A new UV structure and equipment will be installed. SAGR cells will be installed in the existing Quiescent cell. A new generator will be installed. The existing chlorination structure (built in 1985) will be demolished. The project will include all necessary connections and miscellaneous appurtenances.
The purpose of this public hearing is to inform area residents of the City of Ackley of this proposed action, discuss the actual cost and user fees associated with this project, and to address citizen’s concerns, if any, with the plan.
In addition, comments may be submitted in writing at that time, or before, to the City Clerk, and said comments shall be made a part of the public record concerning the hearing.
