 SPECIAL MEETING

                                                                 July 30, 2025

ACKLEY CITY COUNCIL met in special session July 30, 2025 in the Ackley Council Chambers with Mayor Michael Nuss presiding.  The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm.  Council members present, Dan Scallon, Chuy Flores, Maliah Roelfs, Mike Abbas, Judy Crawford. Quorum present.

Scallon moved, Flores seconded to approve the July 30, 2025 agenda. Ayes-all. Motion carried.

Ackley Helping Hands requested permission from Council to replace the 2 wooden doors inside the shelter house and paint a mural on the white building just east of the shelter house, as presented. Dennis updated progress on previous requests. Clarification requested on evergreen trees behind the welcome sign at the Medical Center. AHH to remove all branches from dead trees and the Public Works Dept to cut the trunk down, allowing the stump to rot away. Crawford moved, Roelfs seconded to approve request to allow door replacement and painting of mural. Ayes-all. Motion carried.

H. Kuhl, Northland Securities, presented information on 2025 Series A/B GO Bonds. Roelfs moved, Crawford seconded to pass Resolution 25-31 Approving Bond Purchase Agreement, providing for the issuance of General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds, Series 2025A and providing for the levy of taxes to pay the same. Roll call vote: Ayes- Flores, Roelfs, Abbas, Crawford, Scallon, Motion carried.

Abbas moved, Roelfs seconded to pass Resolution 25-32 Approving Bond Purchase Agreement, providing for the issuance of General Obligation Corporate Purpose Bonds, Series 2025B and providing for the levy of taxes to pay the same. Roll call vote: Ayes-Roelfs, Abbas, Crawford, Scallon, Flores. Motion carried.

Crawford moved, Flores seconded to adjourn at 6:30 pm. Ayes-all. Motion carried.
