 SPECIAL MEETING

  October 23, 2024

ACKLEY CITY COUNCIL met in special session October 23, 2024 in the Ackley Council Chambers with Mayor Michael Nuss presiding.  The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm.  Council members present: Maliah Roelfs, Mike Abbas, and Judy Crawford. Absent: Chuy Flores and Dan Scallon. Quorum present.

Other attendees were Matt Roelfs, Lee Gallentine, and Darren Janssen representing the Ackley Development Commission (ADC).

Abbas moved, Roelfs seconded to approve the October 23, 2024 agenda. Ayes-3. Absent-2. Motion carried.

L. Gallentine presented a list of potential projects that the ADC has put together. That list was prioritized with some items removed. The Council along with the ADC went through the current Urban Renewal Plan to determine what in the current plan was completed, what needs to be done, and what was no longer a necessity to the future plan.  The lists will be put together and sent to the Bond Counsel, Dorsey & Whitney for their review. Clerk Dennis educated council and the ADC of how Tax Increment Financing (TIF) works.

Crawford moved, Roelfs seconded to adjourn at 7:31 pm. Ayes-3. Absent-2. Motion carried.
