ACKLEY CITY COUNCIL met in special session, March 13, 2017, with Mayor Erik Graham presiding. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Council members present: Robert Harms, Sue Ibeling, Al Jones, Joe Wessels, and Dale Brass. Absent: None. Quorum present.
Ibeling moved, Jones seconded, to approve the March 13, 2017 Agenda as listed. Roll call vote: Ayes-All. Motion carried.
Discussion was held regarding the FY2018 Budget. Clerk Kelly DeBerg explained that she would be moving budgeted amounts in capital outlay accounts that weren’t really meant for capital outlay purchases into the more appropriate commodity accounts. Harms asked the council if the $25,000 that was budgeted in Ambulance Donations was an expectation or a goal. Mayor Graham replied that it was both if they are wanting a new ambulance. Wessels moved, Brass seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 17-03 Adopting FY2018 Budget. Roll call vote: Ayes-All. Motion carried.
Resolution No. 17-09 Approving the Ackley Heritage Center Lease Agreement was tabled until the April 12th meeting.
Jones commented that he does not fully understand many of the reports that Clerk DeBerg provides at the regular council meetings and questioned whether the other council members understood. Clerk DeBerg offered to explain the reports at the next regular council meeting and also offered one-on-one discussion with any council member that would be interested in that.
